Regarding the Impact of the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake on the Casio Group’s Operations

TOKYO, March 14, 2011 — Casio Computer Co., Ltd. would like to provide brief details on the impact of the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake on the Casio Group’s operations.

1. Status Regarding Injury and Damage

• Personal injury

  1. Thankfully, there were no major injuries among the Group’s personnel working throughout the Tohoku region. The company continues to take all necessary steps to confirm the safety of its employees and their families.


• Property damage

  1. (1) Manufacturing activities
    The Group is currently working to ascertain the current condition of its facilities while confirming safety as well as the status of materials and infrastructure in efforts to recommence operations. Placing the utmost emphasis on safety, we plan to recommence operations as and when inspections and confirmation have been completed.


  2. (2) Business activities
    While there are at this stage no expectations of major damage to buildings and structures, business activities are expected to be affected due to interruptions to essential utilities. The Casio Group will provide every possible support to its customers and the devastated region in their recovery work efforts. At the same time, we will collect information relevant to employees, their families and our operating network while considering the implementation of appropriate measures.

2. Impact on Performance

The Group is currently evaluating the impact of the earthquake on its performance and business results. Details will be disclosed in a timely manner should we anticipate any major affect to our performance and business results.
