Casio Releases Casio Sustainability Report 2010
TOKYO, November 1, 2010 - Casio Computer Co., Ltd., released the Casio Sustainability Report 2010 today.
The Casio Corporate Report was issued annually from 2006 to 2009, serving as both a corporate profile and a corporate social responsibility (CSR) report for the company. In 2010, however, it has been replaced with the new Casio Sustainability Report 2010 (PDF version), which provides information on the company's social responsibility and environmental initiatives. More detailed content is provided regularly on Casio's website, offering the latest progress and results.
The environment section of this year's report features Casio's major new commitment to achieving medium- and long-term targets for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by 2020 and 2050, declaring for the first time Casio's goal of becoming a carbon-neutral company. In addition, Casio reports progress on the development and certification of Green Star Products, which began in fiscal 2010. In the social section, a special feature entitled, "Talking About the Future with Young People," showcases Casio's program for school visits and factory tours, which is designed to reach the young people who represent the next generation of progress. There are also details on efforts by Casio production sites in China to welcome high school trainees.
