Establishment of the Casio Group Policy on Human Rights

Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has established the Casio Group Policy on Human Rights effective July 1, 2014.

In 2013, Casio revised the Casio Group Code of Conduct in order to accommodate rising expectations from international society for corporate activities to incorporate the philosophy of respect for human rights. As part of this effort, Casio stepped up its human rights initiatives and included a new provision that clearly states its support and respect for international norms on human rights as stipulated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

With the company anticipating a further expansion of its business operations globally, Casio recognizes the importance of establishing an effectively functioning human rights governance system on a worldwide level.

Therefore, the Casio Group Policy on Human Rights was enacted in order to demonstrate Casio’s commitment and considerations toward human rights to all of its stakeholders as the basis by which Casio has established a corporate culture that respects human rights and fulfills its responsibilities regarding human rights.

The Casio Group Policy on Human Rights stipulates ways in which Casio will respect human rights in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and Casio’s continuous approach to building a framework for human rights due diligence*.

Following the Casio Group Policy on Human Rights, Casio will strive to contribute to the creation of a sustainable society by continually engaging in management and business activities that respect human rights.

* Human rights due diligence refers to the continuous process for recognizing, avoiding and mitigating any negative impacts Casio has on society using preventative means.
